Vox AC-30 Top Boost “Grey panel” 1964 JMI 2x12 combination amplifier,

A magnificent early 60’s vintage Vox in very good condition for the year and with just a few changed parts,

Serial number 15555-B

Original Albion transformers, Period correct, and original Silver Alnico 1960’s Celestion speaker drivers with original stamped gaskets present. We can see no evidence of a re-cone and there is no speaker rub detectable. We have replaced the speaker harness and fitted a new mains lead for safety. The voltage selector is missing however the tappings for 240v and 115v are easily accessible.

A few changed resistors during servicing over the years. We have given it a full workshop service and this amp has a delightful tone and everything functions as it should.

The cabinet is is excellent solid condition, with birch ply construction, some touching up with black paint on the exterior here and there.  The amps chassis board is new as the old one was in poor condition.
The grill cloth and under scrim have been replaced with period materials.
The back panel looks like it has been swapped over from another Vox amp at some point in the past. The back panel plate states “B” and not “TB”
The footswitch is not included.

The carry handles have been changed, It is currently hard-wired for the UK and Europe 240v but we can convert this to 115v for our North American customer if requested,
