Martin D-18 1954

5,999.00

This is an original 1954 Martin D-18 previously owned by Owen Powell from Catatonia.

This magnificent dreadnought plays and sounds as good as it looks. The tone is just incredible as you would expect from a Martin from this period,

Tortoise shell pick guard and binding, original machine heads. Rosewood bridge plate, the bridge saddle has been replaced but the original in with the guitar. The frets are in very good order as is the top nut. The guitar also has the original case,

There are obviously dings and age related marks on the guitar but nothing that detracts from what is a very fine guitar.

Naturally aged Spruce top and mahogany back and sides. There are two cleats visible thought the sound hole internally but other that that and a recent professional neck re-set it is as good as it gets. Probably one of the best examples that you will find.

Sold with a letter from Owen Powell confirming his ownership and describing its use on during his writing process and recording.
