Dearnaley Model One Cedar top 2021 Worn Vintage Burst

We are very excited here at Motomusic. This is his very latest build, a Dearnaley Model One with a Cedar top, and mahogany back and sides. This guitar has a truly magnificent tone. Reclaimed Mahogany from Cardiff University in the 1970’s and then stored in Daves workshop waiting for his acoustic project until now!

The Dearnaley acoustics feature a "cylinder built" body and a build utilising very old hand selected re-claimed timbers.

The tuned cedar top combined with Dave's own "X" hand-carved bracing offers the player a wonderful balanced and loud acoustic tone (mahogany braces on the back, and spruce on the top) This pattern was designed specifically for his unique body style which he describes as a scaled-up and deepened Parlour (the lower bout measures 15" across) Its comfortable in your lap and feels and sits "just right"

His decades of guitar building and attention to the intonation of each instrument makes this a formidable acoustic guitar. Note the angle of the headstock, the hand-carved chunky three-piece mahogany neck, the Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, it is all pure class.

The neck is affixed with the Somogyi doweled tenon method rather than a Martin style dove tail joint. And then you have traditionally applied nitro cellulose "old school no plastic" lacquer finish, The aged sunburst is magnificent. Obviously the top nut and saddle are hand carved bone and the bridge plate is a master piece and again, all done by hand by one man in his workshop.

Although new, these are hand crafted instruments from re-clamed timbers and as such there are small imperfections in the timber that add to the character of these guitars.
